Virginia Sen. John Warner talked about presidential hopeful John McCain in a press conference Tuesday.

With the Democratic and Republican national conventions just days away, both presidential candidates are showing increased interest in Virginia.

Sen. Barack Obama is planning to spend Wednesday in Virginia to campaign with Senate hopeful Mark Warner.

John Warner commented about the race for who would be the vice presidential candidates picked by McCain and Obama.

He states, "Vice president today is a very active person in affairs of our nation. I think that it will carry over into this administration that McCain's pick will be a full working partner and will not be delegated like Roosevelt delegated Truman."

John Warner also stated thatObama would be better off with a vice presidential running mate with experience in defense and diplomacy.
