With Christmas now behind us, looking back on the holiday shopping season, Amazon announced it had a record-setting season.

The online retailer added more than one million customers worldwide its prime membership level during the third week of December alone.
 
During Cyber Monday, a record 36.8 million items were ordered, which equals 426 items per second.
 
Other facts from Amazon, more than half of its customers shopped using a mobile device.
 
Amazon shipped gifts across the globe to 185 countries.
 
Amazon customers bough enough Crayola markers to draw a line around the world four times.
 
Also, the new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles were so popular that at the peak of sales for each console, customers bought more than 1,000 units per minute.
