Here are a few ecologically-centered apps and websites just in time for Earth Day 2013.

WWF Together

iPad App: Free

Take an up-close look at some of nature's endangered animals. See what it's like to see through the eyes of a tiger, or find instructions on how to create folded paper versions of your favorite animals! This app has plenty of interactive features and beautiful pictures both parents and kids can enjoy.

Buy Local Virginia: Farmers Market Locator

If buying local is the way you want to show your love for planet Earth on Earth Day, you can go to this website to look for local produce makers near you. You can search by what type of produce your looking for from eggs to wine. You can also look for general vendors such as grocers and farmers markets.

This web search will help you save the rainforest. Ecosia donates 80 percent of its profits to WWF's work to preserve the Amazon Rainforest.

Good Guide

Android/iOS App: Free

Take this app with you on your next grocery shopping trip. You can use this app to scan the bar code of any items you want to buy. Then it will give it a number grade to let you buy the most healthy, socially responsible, and green products.

Android/iOS App: Free

Are you tired of getting heaps of unwanted junk mail? Save all that extra paper from going into the trash by removing yourself from the distribution lists.

PaperKarma makes the whole process super simple. You just take a picture of the unwanted mail you want to stop receiving. Then it will automatically contact the mailer and get you off the distribution list.
