Google Again World's Most Valuable Brand

Google reclaims top spot from Apple.

Apple has lost its top spot as the world's most valuable brand, that honor has been restored to Google.

In an annual study, communications company Millward Brown Optimor announced 2014's top 100 global brands.

This chart highlighting the top 10 was created by Statista.

For the past three years, Apple has topped the list; however, for the four years before that, Google had the top spot.  The list was first compiled in 2006, when Microsoft topped the list, Google was number seven and Apple was number 29, below number 27 Dell.

Fast forward to 2014, and Dell is no longer on the list, while the value of Google's brand has gone from $37.44 billion to $158.84 billion.

Part of the reason given for Apple's fall was because the company failed to keep breaking new ground.
