Find out how you can write an entire novel by the end of this month and how to connect with other aspiring novelists near you!

NaNoWriMo.org

National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is a challenge for all novelists, and aspiring novelists, to write an entire 50,000 word novel by the end of the month.

Connect to Novelists near You

You can also join groups of other novelists participating in NaNoWriMo too. These groups organize events called “write-ins” for the group to get together and write novels. There is a group in Charlottesville and one for the Shenandoah Valley.

Pep Talks

The task of writing an entire novel in a month may seem a bit daunting, but you can read pep talks from published authors to get inspiration. You can also get some of these pep talks in your e-mail inbox when you sign up with NaNoWriMo.

Set up a NaNoWriMo Account

When you sign up, all they need is your username and e-mail address. You can set up a profile with as much, or as little, information as you want to provide. Once you sign up, there are tools you can use to track the progress of your novel and share it with friends.
