Farmers' Market Week Kicks Off


Governor Bob McDonnell has officially recognized this week as Farmers' Market Week.

Markets, like the one in Harrisonburg, have gained popularity throughout the entire state over the past six years. According to the proclamation, in 2006, only 88 markets were recognized. Since then, 120 more have opened to spread Virginia grown produce to people with discerning tastes.


Fort Defiance High School Gets Extreme Makeover


For some high school students, there has to be something really worthwhile to make them get out of bed early during summer, let alone on a Saturday morning. For students at Fort Defiance High School, though, there's a level of pride in the school, that makes them want to spruce it up.
