Tweeting while watching television has become increasingly popular and now it's going to be measured.
Today marks the first day of Nielsen's new Twitter TV Ratings.
Twitter first announced its partnership with Nielsen late last year and it officially starts today.
The ratings are based off of four different criteria: unique audience, impressions, unique authors and tweets.
These ratings provide a uniform measure to the social activity connected with different shows.
It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out during this TV season, especially considering the fact that twitter is preparing for it's IPO.
