A few leftover showers will be in the Valley and higher elevations through Tuesday morning, but our transition period to warmer weather begins Tuesday afternoon.
Low pressure moves hangs along the Long Island coast for several days, however, it stays far enough east for the Valley to clear out. High pressure moves into the Ohio Valley Wednesday morning, bringing northwesterly winds to the Valley. As we learend last week in the "Warming Winds" blog, the downsloping effect will bring our temperatures up another 10 degrees from Monday and Tuesday's high temperatures.
By Thursday, high pressure moves into northern Florida, giving our winds a southerly component. Southwesterly winds will bump our temperatures into the upper 70's Thursday and even into the low to mid 80's by Friday.
Everyone wanted summer - here it is! No complaining that it's going to be in the 80's on the 2nd day of April! I hope everyone is able to enjoy the weather this weekend - what are you planning to do? If only there were big screen TV's outside so we could enjoy the weather and watch the basketball games this weekend!
A cold front will move through Sunday, dropping our temperatures slightly. We should see temperatures closer to seasonal averages next week.
