Thursday's cold front brought drier air to the Valley and temperatures closer to seasonal levels. However, the relief won't last long. Read all about it in today's blog!

It feels like FOREVER since we've had a comfortable summer day. Well, Friday is that day! We're expecting temperatures above seasonal averages, but dewpoints will be 10-15 degrees lower than yesterday. That makes all the difference!

Unfortunately, when boundaries push to the south and not due east, they seem to reappear. That's exactly what happens on Saturday, taking away our fun.

The boundary remains stationary over the Carolinas through Friday and early Saturday, before pushing up through North Carolina and Virginia by Saturday afternoon. No longer a stationary front, the warm front will move through here late in the day, bringing back the moisture laden air and the 90's. Storm probabilities are because of the front timing. We don't have enough time to get all the ingredients in perfect alignment for storms Saturday, at least in the Valley. Better storm chances lie east of the Blue Ridge, but storms will be isolated at best.

It is Sunday that brings more storms into the region - after the warm front has lifted through the Keystone State and allowed ample time for the surface layer to moisten and the temperatures to heat up back to 90 degrees. Without a specific trigger for storms on Sunday, they will likely form on the higher terrain and move on from there.

Monday looks to deliver the next threat of severe weather. A cold front is scheduled to move through here around the evening commute and will be stronger than the front that crossed the area Thursday. Therefore, we are in another prime situation for strong storms.

Enjoy your Friday!
