Wednesday's cold front is what you would call...classic text book. There was a 32º temperature gradient over 100 miles. At 6am, it was 36º and snowing in Elkins, WV and 60º and raining in Weyers Cave, VA. As the front came through, the winds picked up and temperatures began to plummet. WHSV dropped 13º in 40 minutes.
Snowflakes have been reported in the higher elevations of Pendleton County Wednesday afternoon, as temperatures continue falling through the 30's.
Overnight lows return to the 20's Wednesday and for the next several nights. Daytime highs will be 5-10 degrees below seasonal averages through the beginning of next week.
