December 26, 2010 - Valley Dodges A Snowstorm

The heaviest snow remains to our east, but could we see more of the white stuff today? Read on in today's blog!

Areas to our east are picking up well over 6" of snow, however, the Valley was lucky with this storm. Amounts of 1-2" have been reported, with highest amounts over the southern Valley as expected.

As this system moves to the north, we cannot rule out isolated light snow showers throughout the Valley Sunday. We're not expecting additional accumulation, but with temperatures below freezing, a quick snow shower could make for some slippery roadways.

Many of us have loved ones traveling to or from areas east of I-95 Sunday, where the heaviest snow will fall. If you can hold out until Monday, conditions will be much more favorable for long drives.

Keep us updated with your snowfall and what you see outside your window!

The good news is - as we approach the new year - we're approaching new temperatures! A very powerful system moving through the Midwest on New Years Eve will draw lots of warm air back to the Valley, bringing temperatures to the 50's.
