Our gloomy days of October will end Wednesday, giving way to sunshine and warmer air. Read all about it in today's blog!

Our October gloom will come to an end, for now - the sunshine returns Thursday and temperatures will be above average come this weekend. Temperatures stayed in the mid to upper 50's since Monday and clouds stayed over much of the Valley and higher elevations. A few lucky locales received peeks of sunshine, but it was few and far between.

Sunshine and warmer air return to the Valley this weekend with temperatures in the 70's. Temperatures will actually stay above seasonal averages for several days. We should stay dry through the next 5 days, with the next possible rain coming in the middle of next week. After that, we should receive another modest cool down, bringing temperatures back to more seasonal levels.

The tropics are still cranking with subtropical depression 17. The "sub" means that it has characteristics of both a tropical system and an extratropical system (a typical low pressure system that we see, with fronts, etc). It should not threat any land and will eventually move east after a brief move north today.

If you missed it this morning - Snowshoe had it's first snowfall of the season! Check out the video on facebook WHSV TV3 DAYBREAK.
