Hello blog world! We're officially into year 2 of my blog - I'm very excited that we've been doing this for so long!
Onto the gossip about next week...the models are extremely interesting for the Tues-Thurs time period. The Euro & Canadian bring a decently sized coastal storm through SE VA while the GFS has a less intense storm rolling through. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon just yet because so many times this winter...models have taken storms through our area 3-6 days out and then at 60 hours, they shift east and all the white stuff goes to the I-95 corridor north of Baltimore.
Let me give you a taste of what it being put out - the Euro brings over 2" of liquid into the Valley - all frozen - either ice and/or snow - at least 24 hours of precip. The CMC brings a mix of ice and snow with over 1.5" of liquid and about 30 hours of precip. The GFS brings about .50" of liquid with all being snow and about 12-18 hours of precip.
I think we'll have a better idea come Saturday night and Sunday with the strength and positioning of this storm system. Like I said, don't get your hopes up...just yet.
I'll update Sunday - happy weekend - try to stay warm!!!
