Almost summer like whether to start off the spring season in the Valley as we start the day with showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures rise into the low 70's Monday with more thunderstorm activity possible later in the day.
The majority of this week will remain unsettled with a boundary settling to our south Monday night. Several waves of low pressure will ride along the boundary, giving us a few opportunities for rain. One wave of low pressure came through Monday morning, with another one expected later in the day on Tuesday. The final piece of the storm system will come through late Wednesday night through Thursday, giving some areas (mainly higher elevations) a taste of winter before all is said and done.
Yep - I said it! Some locations will see snow flurries Thursday morning and high temperatures across the board will be 25-30 degrees lower than where they are on Monday. Highs will struggle to reach the upper 40's all weekend, with another storm system moving in, threatening our neighbors to the north with more snow for our first full weekend of spring.
As we know, March can bring volatile weather and varying conditions in a matter of days - I don't think March 2011 will let us down!
