I know we all secretly hoped the forecast would change for this week, but unfortunately the rain showers will stay in the forecast through much of the week.
An upper level low pressure will stall over North Carolina from Tuesday through Thursday, before moving northeast later on Thursday. This keeps cloud cover and shower chances in our forecast for the next several days.
What's different about this week in relation to last week, is that our wind flow is out of the east. Last week we had southerly breezes, which kept a nice warm touch to the air even though we had some decent cloud cover. With winds out of the east, we're bringing in a cooler, moist breeze from the Atlantic. It likely won't feel nearly as comfortable, and will keep most of us inside for the next few days.
Temperatures will struggle this week because of the easterly flow, especially Tuesday when we'll see the most consistent rain shower activity.
This is not the week to forget rain gear! Make sure you're prepared!
