Another round of showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday - it's a washout.
This will be the worst of the rain for the rest of the week, so make sure you have the rain gear handy. There's some good news and bad news with this though. Despite Tuesday being the worst rain day, the showers stay in the forecast through Friday morning. Our low pressure (over the Carolinas right now) will eventually retrograde back to West Virginia.
As the low pressure moves back to the west, moisture stays with us in the Valley - hence the cloud cover and shower chances remaining in the forecast. Low pressure eventually weakens and moves off the eastern seaboard, allowing us to briefly dry out for Friday afternoon and Saturday. By Sunday, pop-up showers and thunderstorms are possible again.
