Summer lovers rejoice - there's one last day of 85 degree heat to enjoy before we fall head first into fall. Westerly winds pump in some warm air giving our temperatures a boost to the mid 80's.

A cold front approaches from the north on Tuesday, bringing some clouds and maybe an isolated shower/thunderstorm to the Valley during the afternoon hours. We'll have brief clearing Tuesday night into Wednesday morning before clouds move in ahead of our next system approaching from the west.

This energy phases with a weak low pressure system off the Carolina coast Wednesday evening, bringing about a very energized coastal low pressure system. The low pressure moves up the eastern seaboard, bringing rain to the Commonwealth and much of the east coast. For areas of New England, this will be another Nor'Easter - bringing drenching rains and gusty winds to many areas along the coast.

After this system leaves our area, we'll clear out and cool down. Temperatures return to seasonal temperatures by the end of the week and the weekend under mostly sunny skies.
