This week's question is a cold weather question about frost.
"Can frost occur with temperatures above freezing?"
Click on the video above for the answer.
Since Monday was a well below average day, let's talk temperatures too while we're talking about some cold weather. Normally for the beginning of October our high temperature on average is about 69 degrees.
With a high only in the mid 40s today that's about 25 degrees below average!
In Harrisonburg our official high was 46 degrees for Monday and we haven't been that cold for a daytime high since March 5th this spring. That's about 7 months ago!
Take a look at the radar also from Monday afternoon.
Notice the pink and white in western Pendleton and Grant counties?
Yep, that's a little winter weather falling.
We also had reports of snow falling in Highland county, and there was plenty of snow falling at Snowshoe Mountain in Elkins, WV.
Of course nothing accumulated but interesting for the 8th of October!
Don't put away the flip flops and t-shirts just yet, we'll see some warmer temperatures this week. Although unusual this cold spurt is typical of fall.
