A group of kids in Elkton are showing off their newest creations. Middle schoolers had the opportunity to learn how to paint in watercolor from a professional artist.

"I feel like I'm a real artist," says Cody Shifflett.

The opportunity came through a grant from the Virginia Watercolor Society's Creasy-Johnson fund and the Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society. The kids say they're proud to showcase the results of their hard work.

"You can paint without anybody judging you," says Nicole Shifflett. "It's free, and it's after school and I can have fun."

The kids also got tours of historical sites in Elkton and used some of those sites as inspiration for their work.
