Schools in Virginia will now have some more leniency for reaching some state performance requirements.
Gov. Bob Mcdonnell signed a bill Tuesday that was sponsored by Del. Tony Wilt from Harrisonburg.
It delays increased accreditation standards, in the wake of dramatic funding cuts for schools.
Wilt says it's not fair to require schools to reach higher standards, when money is being taken away and teachers are being laid off.
