Your children could have the option to take more online classes when they go back to school next fall.

The Virginia Department of Education has approved 13 vendors to provide courses over the computer.

Officials say it will allow students to take more diverse classes.

The courses will be made possible by corporations and nonprofit groups. They'll be taught by Virginia-licensed teachers.

The General Assembly has been working for the past two years to make it easier for students to learn outside of the traditional classroom.
