A Valley university is doing what it can spread the word about environmental sustainability.

Eastern Mennonite University was honored by the National Wildlife Federation Tuesday.

The Christian college won for its many environmental efforts on campus.

The award recognizes U.S. schools that design and implement creative approaches to advance sustainability on campus.

EMU is home to the largest solar panel project in the state, has a garden that grows food for its dining hall and offers a unique program where a bicyclist rides around campus collecting recyclable materials.
