Science Applications International Corp. has been awarded a contract to help enhance information technology infrastructure for the U.S. Forest Service.
The McLean, Virginia company said Monday the contract from the U.S. Department of Agriculture is worth $21 million.
Under the contract, the company said it will provide the expertise, technical knowledge, and staff support for a program designed to safeguard information entrusted to the Forest Service.
The department is responsible for stewardship of the nation's 155 national forests and 20 national grasslands comprised of more than 193 million acres.
The company says the program will help strengthen information security for the federal agency.
