More Accolades For S.A.R.S.

The Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad has six more reasons to brag. The squad received awards from the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads 73rd Annual Convention held in Virginia Beach last weekend.

One of the awards included first place in a vehicle extrication competition, which the team won with a perfect score.

President Donna Helmick says that the squad takes pride in going to the competitions.

She says, "They're always a learning experience and to be able to go there and to learn something and to bring home an award, it just boosts our morale. It makes our community proud of us because they know we do a good job and we are able to go there and to prove that.”
