Run, Walk, & Roll

Drivers in Harrisonburg had to make way for some runners, walkers, and even some people rolling down the streets Saturday.

A local group, called "In His Image Disability Services," held a fundraising event for families who have a disabled family member. Virginia is ranked 45th in the nation in helping families who have family members with special needs according to the United Cerebral Palsy Network.

The executive director of the group, Beth Speidel, says she hopes events like this one will bring more awareness.

"Or even holding a door open for a mom that may have a child in a wheel chair, just the awareness and everything else that goes hand-in-hand with it. It's not just the money, it's a mental set," says Speidel.

All monies raised in Saturday's event will help the Central Shenandoah Valley area, and there will be another "Walk, Run, and Roll" next Saturday at Strasburg's town park.
