Boy Scouts in the Valley can add another good deed to their resumes: the second largest food drive of the year.
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank saw about 13,000 pounds of groceries being donated, and the Boy Scouts handled every single one of them.
Martin's donated 180,000 grocery bags free of charge, and the Scouts have been busy handing them out door to door all over the Valley.
"We put out bags on people's doorsteps and the next Saturday, which was today, we gathered up the bags of food, and we bring them to the Food Bank for people who cannot afford to buy food," says Boy Scout Jacob Flickinger.
