With the colder temperatures upon us, the Commonwealth is reaching out to those who need help paying their heating bills.
Low-income Virginians have until Friday to apply for heating assistance at their local social services office.
Older and disabled Virginians as well as those that meet income guidelines are encouraged to apply.
To qualify for the income levels, a family of four needs to make less than $2,238 per month, and an individual needs to make less than $1,107 per month.
Approximately 100,000 households in Virginia receive fuel assistance each year.
