Teens now have an updated facility at which they can spend their free time in Staunton.
The Staunton Teen Center's underground cafe re-opened Friday night after undergoing major renovations.
New paint, decorations, flooring and furniture were added to the cafe after the center received a grant to help with costs.
Teens were welcomed back to the center with refreshments, karaoke, and door prizes Friday.
Greg Beam helped with the decoration and renovation process. While the upstairs accommodates those interested in sports, Beam believes the cafe will have its own unique purpose directed more towards the arts.
He says, "This will hopefully attract a more diverse space for teens to hang out. Not everyone's into sports. Likewise, not everyone's going to be into coffee, but it's just another opportunity for kids to hang out in a supervised environment."
The center hopes to revamp the kitchen next to make way for culinary and craft activities.
