The way to some people's heart is through their stomach, right?

On Monday night, in honor of Veterans Day, the Harrisonburg Golden Corral extended a special thanks to service men and women with a free meal. Hundreds of people lined up outside the restaurant for the 6th annual Military Appreciation Monday.

John Benson manages the restaurant, and aside from the increase in business, he says he enjoys thanking each and every veteran.

"The best part about it to me is just being able to meet all the veterans and thank them for their service for our country. It's just awesome. We have a great turn out this year," says Benson.

Since 2001, the Golden Corral has donated 1.5 million free Thank You meals, and $1.9 million to disabled American veterans.
