Language for the Olympics

A Harrisonburg company is helping the world and the Valley prepare for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Several native Mandarin Chinese speakers are working behind the scenes in the Rosetta Stone audio studio recording for the latest software release.

Mandarin Chinese will be included in the version three program and will be ready for U.S. consumers just in time for the Olympics.

The director of Rosetta Stone Studios, Ellen Butchart, says, "I think there's going to be so much interest in the language and people wanting to communicate and to understand the athletes from all over the world. And we're sponsoring some of the athletes that are going to the Olympics and our language software will hopefully help them."

Rosetta Stone is sponsoring U.S. Olympic athletes from the rowing, sailing and swimming teams.
