The Waynesboro Planning Commission re-visited their comprehensive plan Tuesday night.
Director of Planning Jim Shaw presented a slide show about the progress made on the city's comprehensive plan review.
Three large areas were specifically highlighted in terms of future development. These areas included downtown and two tracts of land on the eastern portion of Waynesboro known as Opportunity Park and the Brucheum property.
Shaw says the two large tracts of land may provide unique opportunities for Waynesboro's future.
He says, "They provide a lot of opportunity for new types of employment centers and what we would hope to do is to see them develop in such a way as to put Waynesboro on the map."
City officials hope the draft plan, including the finalized land use guide map and goals for future land use development, will be given to the planning commission in early 2008.
