The Augusta County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man they say is responsible for spray-painting several swastikas on private property.
Nineteen-year-old David Blackmon was arrested early Tuesday morning at a Dairy Queen in Verona. Deputies say Blackmon had spray paint on his forehead and paint cans in his truck when they found him.
A fresh swastika had recently been painted on the Dairy Queen where Blackmon was arrested.
Deputies say Blackmon admitted to vandalizing several vehicles and buildings in Augusta County, Waynesboro, and Staunton with swastikas.
Investigators say it was not gang-related; it was just random acts of vandalism.
