The Rockingham County Fair is not just giving out awards; it is also getting some of its own.
The fair received three first place awards from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.
The awards came for Overall Program for Competitive Agricultural Exhibitors, Special or Specific Event for Agricultural Exhibitors relating to the Replacement Heifer Sale, and Outstanding Media Commitment to Agricultural Programming.
There are a total of 13 Agricultural Award categories, each divided into five divisions. The entries were evaluated by a team of industry leaders.
The fair was chosen over hundreds of other community fairs in the nation.
