In this week's what's going around, we take a look at Shenandoah County.
Medical director of Lord Fairfax Health District, Dr. Diane Helentjaris, is starting to see a flu-like illness going around. She suspects that many, if not most, are influenza.
Taking a look at influenza activity across the state, the Virginia Department of Health has elevated the Commonwealth to level two, which means flu is local at this time.
Helentjaris is also following up on a case of suspected active tuberculosis.
She says she also is seeing several cases of salmonella in the area at this time.
