With wicked weather in the forecast, area businesses have to make plans for what to do during the storm.
Some business owners say it's a waiting game. While some are determined to stay open no matter how bad the weather gets, others say they don't want to jeopardize the safety of their employees and customers.
"If it starts to get pretty bad, we'll definitely shut down for the rest of the day," says Shana Weaver, manager of Cinnamon Bear Coffee Shop in Harrisonburg. "We don't want them to come in with the road conditions the way they are. We don't really. We just want to keep people off the road the best we can if it's slick out there; just keep people safe."
If the storm begins by the time they close for the day, Weaver says they won't take any chances, especially with patrons.
"And our customers, we want to keep them safe as well. I mean just the chance of them trying to get here is not worth it," says Weaver.
