Airport officials say keeping a few extra things in mind this holiday season can make your air travel plans run more smoothly.

Passengers should remember that liquids must be in clear plastic containers. Also, presents can't be wrapped so security can check them.

Officials ask people to arrive at the airport a little earlier, because it will be crowded. They say you can save time yourself by packing a little tighter.

"If you go with just carry-on luggage, and you don't' check luggage, you won't have to wait at your final destination. Its not such a big deal at this airport but at a bigger airport, it can be quite a wait over the holidays," says Greg Campbell, director of Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.

If you have any questions about airport security go to the Transportation Safety Administration's website.
