The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg is ringing in 2008 with some good news.
The annual kettle campaign for the 2007 Christmas season finished above the goal of $105,000 with a total of $106,890.
Just before Christmas, the Salvation Army was so concerned about possibly not reaching that goal, the organization decided to keep the kettle houses open through Christmas Eve.
The Salvation Army relies on what is raised during the Christmas season to fund its programs all year long.
