Big Brothers Big Sisters Director Steps Down

One of Harrisonburg's most successful leaders announced she will be stepping down later this month.

After a decade of leadership, Rajan Shore, the executive director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockingham County, announced that she is leaving on January 24.

Shore is accepting a position in the Department of Student Services at Blue Ridge Community College. She said it's been an honor to serve Rockingham county for the last decade.

"As I look back at this past year, we have just celebrated 30 years as an organization," says Shore. "The organization has a strong staff, a strong board, and honestly, I can't think of a better note to leave on than when the organization is doing so well."

Shore hopes the new director continues the goal of reaching 1,000 children served in Rockingham County by 2010.
