Help an Adopted Platoon

A group of college students at JMU is working to send U.S. troops a little something from home.

The JMU College Republicans recently adopted a platoon stationed in Iraq. On Tuesday, they started a drive for donations.

The group is asking for items like bug spray, sun screen, socks and any non-perishable items, though you can also just open your wallet to help.

Juliana Comer, JMU College Republicans, says, "Some people have been coming by and being really generous, giving out a $20 bills, things like that. You know $1, $2, $3, just pocket change. You know just anyway people can donate anything. We appreciate the efforts."

If you missed Tuesday's opportunity to drop off donations, you can mail them to the JMU College Republicans at JMU box 8084.
