With thousands of Valley children off from school Thursday, lots of parents who had to work were left scrambling to find someone to look after the kids.
Some option they might consider is having the children spend the day with a neighbor, friend or relative. Maybe parents were wondering if their children might be mature enough to leave home alone.
If none of those options won't help, Rockingham Memorial Hospital's Child Care Connection can help with planning in advance.
Reagan Eshleman, EMH Childcare Connection, says, "We can help parents plan ahead. We have a large database of child care providers some of whom are willing to do back-up care. So parents can call us and we can give a list of names and phone numbers of providers who can help them."
