While saying their presence is needed in the community, a local pregnancy center reopened Sunday with new equipment and facilities.
The Harrisonburg Pregnancy Clinic calls itself a Christian Ministry and offers emotional, physical and spiritual support to women, men and their families when facing unplanned pregnancies, sexual decisions and post-abortion trauma.
They spent the last several months remodeling the interior and one new feature is an ultra-sound machine. They say it was important they reopened quickly, because their services are needed in the Valley.
"We have options counseling for woman who are in a crisis. They come to us a lot of times knowing they're already pregnant and they really don't know what to do. So I feel like we're the only place in town," says Paula Cook, serves on the clinic's Board of Directors.
Volunteers gave tours Sunday to show off the new facilities.
