The cold is keeping local homeless shelters full, but they won't be turning anyone away as temperatures dip down into 20s and the teens overnight.
For the last several nights, the Valley Mission in Staunton has seen more people looking for a warm place to stay.
It’s so cold out, they have to let everyone in, because temperatures are low enough to be deadly.
"I could be in the streets, out in the cold, and like I said, they don't stop anybody from coming here," says David Wodflok.
Valley Mission workers say they expect to see more people come if temperatures remain this low.
