Missing Man

Waynesboro Police are asking for the public's help in finding a Rockbridge County man who went missing Wednesday morning.

Franics Lloyd Vangundy, 77, was supposed to meet his daughter at the Super 8 Motel in Waynesboro around 7 a.m. before they were to drive to Dulles Airport to fly to Kansas.

He left the motel between 4 or 5 a.m. and was last seen driving a blue 2005 Mercury Montego with a Virginia License plate JMT-1155.

Vangundy is a white man with gray hair, blue eyes, who weighs 175 pounds and is five foot, eight inches tall. He may have been wearing a brown and yellow flannel shirt, blue trousers and black shoes.

His daughter says Vangundy suffers from a diminished mental state and may be showing early signs of dementia or Alzheimer's.

If you have any information regarding this person, please contact your local law enforcement agency or the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675.
