The city of Waynesboro has been designated a Virginia enterprise zone by the state.

The city will be receiving money to help build up areas like the 250 corridor, which runs from the city to Afton Mountain.

The goal is to bring in new business along the corridor by providing incentives to business owners.

Three other areas in the state were also designated enterprise zones. The city of Galax and the counties of Halifax and Wise.
