Leader of the Mormon church, Gordon Hinckley, has died, leaving churches around the country and in the Valley mourning Monday.
Hinckley died at the age of 97 in his home Sunday. He led the church for 13 years and died from complications of old age.
The Woodstock Mormon Church Branch President, Alan Wiberg, calls Hinckley a man from whom everyone could learn.
"He definitely was a spiritual leader to many people in the church. Not only a spiritual leader but he was a world leader in his example and the kind of things he tried to do for humanity and mankind," says Wiberg.
The Church of Latter Day Saints will select Hinckley's predecessor soon after the funeral.
