Travel Changes Homecoming

About 150 local soldiers from the Virginia National Guard prepare to return home from a tour in Iraq Thursday.

The Staunton, Virginia-based 116th brigade infantry is now scheduled to return to Richmond International Airport.

They were originally scheduled to come into the Charlottesville Airport, but that was changed Tuesday due to travel conditions.

A welcome home ceremony will take place in Staunton at 3 p.m. at the Staunton Armory on Thornrose Avenue.

Because of the travel change, this time was also changed from 1 p.m.

The unit has been stationed in Iraq since June 2007.
