Wednesday night's clear weather let area residents see something remarkable in the sky: a total lunar eclipse.
The moon was incrementally covered by the Earth's shadow, starting around 9 p.m.
About an hour later, the moon was completely covered and turned red.
The shadow then moved incrementally off the surface of the moon, returning the night to its usual full moon brightness.
If you missed this one, the next total lunar eclipse will be visible in December 2010.
