She's just out of school and she's running the town. Twenty-one-year-old Ashley Davison recently took over as Grottoes' new town manager. She's in her fourth week on the job.

She graduated from James Madison University in May with a degree in public administration, and even at the young age of 21, she's confident she can handle the job.

"It really hasn't been extremely overwhelming. It's definitely something I can manage," says Davison. "Just with a lot of studying, listening, paying attention, and trying to learn everything. I think it'll work out OK."

Davison earns an annual salary of about $35, 000. As town manager, she reports to the town's council and mayor.

Prior to taking the job, she completed an internship working for the Town of Broadway.
