The Rockingham County Sheriff's office has arrested a man they say is responsible for dozens of thefts around the Valley. Christopher Scott Smith of Mount Jackson was arrested following an investigation by several local law enforcement agencies. He is charged with a total of 29 felonies in Rockingham County, Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Augusta County. Investigators say many of the thefts were from construction sites.

Augusta County investigators are searching for two stolen dirt bikes. They include a blue and white 2008 Yamaha and a 2006 Roketa. They were stolen from the back of a truck on Emerald Heights Drive in Fishersville on Saturday. They are worth a total of $3,800.

Also in Augusta County, deputies say someone went into a coin laundry shop on Saturday and cracked open the change machine without being noticed. It happened at Windmill Square in Stuarts Draft. The thief took $480 in quarters.

Harrisonburg Police say someone spray painted gang signs on the basketball courts at Morrison Park on Tuesday. The graffiti said "KPC" referring to the Kelley Park Crips gang.

Deputies in Shenandoah County report that someone broke into a home in Basye and painted graffiti inside, causing $1,000 of damage. A Nintendo Wii was also stolen. It was reported on Tuesday on Leigh Lane.

Also in Shenandoah County, deputies have arrested Andrew G. Everett, who faces his fourth DUI in the past ten years. Everett was pulled over after deputies say he ran a red light in the Columbia Furnace area on Saturday.
