To recognize the work of these individuals and organizations, four annual awards have been established to honor those who have made an indelible mark on ensuring that all children, 0-6, are healthy, well-cared for, and ready to succeed in school in the Shenandoah Valley.

The Virginia Department for the Aging is offering a new web portal for those in need.

The new website gives resources and support to adults with disabilities, senior citizens, caregivers, and health care providers.

Debbie Burcham with the Department for the Aging says the site is easy to use, and it's a guide to many other websites and support services.
